MICHAEL SPEARMAN

Principal

Resolute Legal’s Principal Lawyer Michael Spearman was born in Tully, North Queensland. He studied at Blue Mountains School of Hospitality and worked in pubs and restaurants for a number of years in Australia and the UK.

Michael has also worked in Underground Mining as a shot-firer in WA and owned and operated a banana and cane farm in North Queensland before deciding to study and complete a dual degree – Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Laws at James Cook University (JCU).

Michael was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in March 2011 in Townsville before working with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service (ATSILS) in Cairns. In 2012 he moved back to Townsville and joined the commercial law firm Emanate then worked for ATSILS in Townsville before deciding to open his own legal firm –  Resolute Legal – in October 2015.

OUR HISTORY

Resolute Legal is Townsville born and bred and we are focussed on getting the best outcomes for our clients.  However we are also focussed on continually improving the opportunities and way of life of our local community. That’s why we sponsor our local sporting teams, schools and clubs and try to give back our time and skills to help build on our community’s strengths.

Our magnificent office building has a lot of history too.  The land was purchased in 1875 for just 50 pounds.  The building was then built in 1925 to house the Australian Mutual Limited bank.  It has been host to a great many businesses over the years and was the American Army’s Headquarters during the Second World War.
